Wicked Information
Based on the Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the musical Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz, is one of the biggest hits on Broadway. The story begins long before Dorothy and her little dog arrive in Oz. It is the tale of friends Elphaba and Glinda, who will one day become the familiar witches of the West and North.
The original Broadway production opened on June 10, 2003, starring Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda and Idina Menzel as Elphaba. The role won Menzel a Tony Award. The Broadway production runs today with a new cast, currently one of the longest running shows.
